1. What Is An Control and Protective Switching ?
A Control and Protective Switching Device (commonly abbreviated as “CPS”) is an integrated, multi-functional low-voltage electrical appliance.
Its core function is to integrate the functions of multiple discrete components in traditional low-voltage power distribution systems, such as “circuit breakers, contactors, overload protectors, and isolation switches”, into a single unit.
It achieves the dual functions of “control” and “protection” for electrical circuits, and is widely used in the fields of low-voltage power distribution and motor control.
2. HOW Control and Protective Switching Work ?
The core operation of a Control and Protective Switching Device (CPS) revolves around the principle of “Real-time Monitoring – Intelligent Judgment – Precise Execution”.
Through its internally integrated circuit modules, mechanical structures, and protective components, it simultaneously achieves both “electrical circuit on/off control” and “fault risk prevention”.
It not only replaces the “control” role of traditional contactors but also undertakes the “protection” responsibilities of devices such as circuit breakers and thermal relays.
3.Application Scenarios of Control and Protective Switching Devices (CPS)
Based on the advantages of integrated control and multiple protection offered by control and protection switches, they are widely used in industrial, building, municipal, and civil applications.
Examples include direct starting and protection of electric motors, circuit protection and control in power distribution systems, fire linkage control systems, control of frequently started and stopped loads, intelligent power distribution, and Internet of Things (IoT) scenarios.
